1. Introduction
Sauna Intelligence Inc. (“Hinoki,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you use our conversational video editing platform, our website, and any related products, features, or services (collectively, the “Service”).
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you must not use the Service.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the “Effective Date” above and may provide additional notice as appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
2. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect:
When you visit our website or web application;
When you create an account or sign in;
When you upload videos or provide instructions for editing;
When you purchase credits or otherwise interact with the Service;
When you communicate with us, for example by email.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to:
Any websites or services that link to or from the Service but are operated by third parties;
Any information collected by those third parties, which is governed by their own privacy policies.
Geographic Location
The Service is operated by Sauna Intelligence Inc. in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws.
3. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or the age of digital consent required by the laws of your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you are under the applicable age, you must not use the Service or provide any information about yourself.
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe we may have collected such information, please contact us at hello@saunaintelligence.com.
4. Information We Collect
We collect information in three primary ways: (1) information you provide directly, (2) information collected automatically as you use the Service, and (3) information we receive from third-party services that support the Service.
4.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you use the Service, you may provide:
Account and Profile Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information. If you sign in using a third-party service (e.g., Google OAuth), we receive information as permitted by that service. If you sign up using email and password, we also collect and securely store your account password.
Video Content and Editing Instructions (User Content)
You upload video files and provide editing instructions describing how you want your video edited. These materials are “User Content” as defined in our Terms of Service.
Payment and Billing Information
When you purchase credits, a third-party payment processor processes your payment information. We receive limited billing-related details such as transaction ID, payment status, and timestamps, but we do not store full payment card numbers.
Support and Communication
If you contact us for support, feedback, or other inquiries, we collect the content of those communications, including any additional contact information you choose to provide.
4.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you access or use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, such as:
IP address and approximate location based on IP;
Browser type, device type, and operating system version;
Pages and screens you visit, actions you take within the Service, and timestamps;
Error logs and performance metrics related to video processing or exports;
Authentication events (for example, sign-in and sign-out).
This information helps us operate the Service, ensure security, understand usage patterns, and improve performance and reliability.
4.3 Information from Third-Party Services
We may receive information about you from third-party service providers that support the Service, such as:
Authentication providers (for example, when you sign in with Google OAuth);
Payment processors that confirm payment status and basic billing details;
Infrastructure providers that host or deliver the Service.
We do not receive more data from these providers than is necessary to operate the Service and perform our obligations to you.
Google API Services Disclosure
Hinoki’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
5.1 To Provide and Maintain the Service
To authenticate you and manage your account;
To store and process the videos you upload and the instructions you provide;
To generate conversational edits, previews, and exported video files;
To manage credits, purchases, and access to features.
5.2 To Improve and Develop the Service
To understand how the Service is used and identify areas for improvement;
To refine automated and AI-assisted editing performance;
To test new features and measure their impact;
To create aggregated, non-identifiable statistics and analytics.
We may use information in anonymized or aggregated form in a way that does not identify you personally, for example to analyze overall usage patterns or system performance.
5.3 To Communicate with You
To respond to your questions, comments, and support requests;
To send you important notices about the Service, such as changes to our terms and policies, security alerts, or critical service information.
We may introduce marketing or newsletter communications in the future. If we do, we will provide a way for you to opt out of such communications, while still receiving transactional or service-related messages.
5.4 To Ensure Security, Prevent Misuse, and Comply with Law
To detect and investigate suspicious or abusive behavior, including attempts to circumvent technical protections or misuse AI capabilities;
To enforce our Terms of Service and protect the rights, safety, and property of Hinoki, our users, and others;
To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or government requests.
6. User Content, Output, and Service Materials
6.1 User Content
User Content includes the video files you upload and the instructions you provide. You retain ownership of your User Content, as set out in our Terms of Service. We process User Content only to deliver the Service: to analyze, edit, generate previews, and render exported videos based on your instructions.
We handle User Content through automated and operational processes necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the Service. On occasion, certain content may be processed or reviewed as part of ensuring reliable performance, resolving technical issues, or addressing safety or misuse concerns. Hinoki does not engage in routine or unnecessary manual review of User Content.
6.2 Output
“Output” refers to the edited video versions and exported video files generated for you by the Service. You own the Output, subject to rights in your original materials and third-party content you may have incorporated. You are responsible for reviewing the Output and ensuring that your use of it is lawful and appropriate.
6.3 Service Materials
In operating the Service, Hinoki may generate or use internal data and technical artifacts, such as structural editing data, processing logs, and system-level analytics (“Service Materials”). Service Materials are part of Hinoki’s underlying technology and infrastructure and remain the property of Hinoki. They are not intended to be exported or used independently outside the Service.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy changes your rights in your User Content or Output, nor does it grant you ownership of Hinoki’s internal systems or Service Materials.
6.4 Use of Content for Model Training
Hinoki does not currently use your videos, instructions, or Output to train its own machine-learning models. If we introduce a program that uses User Content to improve models, we will update this Privacy Policy and notify you. Your continued use of the Service following such notice will constitute your acknowledgment of these changes, subject to any opt-out rights we may provide.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
Maintain your session after you sign in;
Remember basic preferences;
Help secure your account and prevent unauthorized access.
You may configure your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable cookies, some features of the Service may not function properly.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
8.1 Service Providers
We work with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as:
Cloud hosting and storage;
Payment processing;
Security monitoring;
Analytics and error reporting.
These providers may have access to information as needed to perform their functions but are not permitted to use it for their own marketing purposes.
8.2 Legal and Safety
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:
Comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, or court order;
Protect the rights, property, or safety of Hinoki, our users, or others;
Investigate and respond to illegal or harmful activity.
8.3 Business Transfers
If Hinoki is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of some or all of its assets, information may be transferred to the successor or affiliate as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
8.4 With Your Consent
We may share information with third parties when you direct us to do so or when you give us your explicit consent.
9. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
Provide the Service and maintain your account;
Support your projects and editing history;
Comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations;
Enforce our rights and resolve disputes.
When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we may delete it or retain it in an aggregated, non-identifiable form.
You may request deletion of your account or certain information, as described in Section 12 (Your Rights and Choices).
When you request deletion, we will remove your personal information from our active systems. However, limited copies may remain in our secure, encrypted backup systems for a short period until they are overwritten in the ordinary course of business. We may also be required to keep certain records even after deletion requests for legal or operational reasons.
10. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including:
TLS encryption for data in transit;
Access controls and authentication;
Limited production access for authorized personnel only;
Logs and monitoring for suspicious activity.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or storage system is completely secure. You use the Service at your own risk. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for notifying us promptly of any suspected compromise.
11. International Transfer
Hinoki is based in the United States. Your personal information is transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers and third-party providers are located. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. For specific details regarding transfers from your region, please see Section 13 (Jurisdiction-Specific Provisions).
12. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your information. Regardless of your location, we aim to give you meaningful control:
Access: You may request a copy of information we hold about you that is associated with your account.
Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate account information.
Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated User Content and Output, subject to our need to retain certain information for legal or operational purposes.
Communication Preferences: If we send marketing communications in the future, you will be able to opt out at any time.
To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@saunaintelligence.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.

Data Transfer Notice: Your personal information is transferred to and processed in the United States by our third-party infrastructure providers (AWS and Google) to provide the Service. You may contact us at hello@saunaintelligence.com regarding this transfer, though refusing transfer may prevent you from using the Service.
Data Destruction: We destroy personal information once its purpose is achieved, using methods that make restoration impossible (e.g., permanent deletion of digital files). However, we may retain certain records (such as login logs or payment history) for the statutory periods required by Korean e-commerce or consumer protection laws.
Your Rights: In addition to the rights in Section 12, you may request the suspension of data processing.
13.2 United States (California)
If you are a resident of California, this section applies to you. We provide you with the rights to access and delete your personal information as described in Section 12. Furthermore, we do not “sell” your personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
14. “Do Not Track” and Similar Signals
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” or similar setting that signals to websites that you do not wish to be tracked. The Service does not currently respond to these signals. We do, however, limit our use of tracking technologies to what is necessary to operate and improve the Service.
15. Links to Other Sites
The Service may contain links to websites or services that are not operated by Hinoki. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
